It was by the slimmest of margains but the Boulder City boys and girls track teams squeezed out championships during the two-day meet in Overton.
The boys scored 68 points, besting Moapa Valley (64) and Virgin Valley (54) for the 3A Southern League meet championship.
The girls recorded 79 points while Moapa Valley (74) finished second and Virgin Valley (33) a distant third.
The girls won 10 of 18 events including all four relays.
Junior distance runner Jessica Tobler won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 32.26 seconds, the 1,600 (5:30.46) and the 3,200(12:09.12) to lead the Lady Eagles.
Senior Tasja Toumasis won the 200 (27.74) and finished second in the 400, while sophomore Kaylee Domzalski won the 100 in 13.36.
Domzalski was part of the 4×100 relay winner that included Zoe Dodd, Carolyn Osborne and Kirsten Rockenfeller.
The team of Toumasis, Domzalski, Dodd and Osborne won the 4×200, and Rockenfeller and Toumasis teamed with Eliza Jeppsen and Alexandria Gonzales to win the 4×400.
Gonzales, Kennedy Bird, Natalie Camps and Savannah Morris won the 4×800.
Junior Avalon Frantz won the discus with a toss of 102 feet, 9 inches.
Securing a place in the state meet by finishing second was Zoe Dodd in the 100 and Whitney Barlow in the shot put.
The boys won only five events, but racked up points with second, third and fourth place finishes to steal the title.
In the closest race of the day, sophomore Chandler Harkins won the 3,200 (11:00), besting teammate Harrison Brown by 0.41 seconds. Brown finished 0.01 seconds ahead the third-place finisher from Virgin Valley.
Harkins also finished second in the 1,600.
Junior Christian Nilsen won with a discus toss of 127 -08 and Matt Johnson won the shot put (43-08.25).
Xavier Steel won the 100 (11.55) and grabbed second in the 200. He also helped win the 4×100 relay with Nathan Chugg, Billy Viera and Efren Sanchez. Steel also qualified for state with a second-place finish in the 4×200 relay with Viera, Sanchez and Gary Ortiz.
Also qualifying for state by grabbing second was Jacorey Dixon in the 400 run and 110 hurdles, Michael Kelsovin the triple jump and shot put, and Tanner Imlay in the pole vault.
The state meet is Friday and Saturday in Reno.
