If Vicki Mayes wants repair her public image, she and her husband should write a check to the city or a charity equal to the fees and taxes they paid to register their car in Nevada.
That would be $6,600, not including penalties.
This suggestion came from David Fott, an associate professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
“Pay double,” said Fott, who teaches ethics in government. “That could get people’s attention.”
