Next time you come to town, Mr. President of the United States, could you maybe call ahead and see what works for me? I don’t mean to be selfish about this, but this Wednesday visit really messed up my week.

First off, when the news of your visit was announced Friday I wasn’t even in my Boulder City office. I was in a day-long seminar at the Review-Journal with other editors and reporters from the company’s newspapers in Mesquite and Lincoln County.

There I was, checking my emails on my iPhone — that’s what we all do in meetings, right? — when I read the alert, “Obama to visit Boulder City on Wednesday.”
