A visit to the classroom of high school history teacher Canaan Petersen always seems to impress his students, especially those who have never been to the “Petersen museum.”
Petersen attempts not only to teach, but to bring history first-hand to students whenever possible. The walls are covered with “teaching tools” that include The Beatles and Bob Dylan albums, a Russian commander’s hat, an autographed picture of Republican
Presidential nominee Mitt Romney and posters of movie classics like “Casablanca” and “The Godfather.”
