ion project has brought a short-term negative impact to a series of locally-owned businesses along the way.

One of the businesses hit hardest by the construction on Fifth Street and Nevada Way is Southwest Diner.

“Right now I want to cry,” said Cindy Ford, owner of the restaurant for 20 years.
