Dorothy Carla Gelenius

Dorothy Carla Gelenius passed away on June 28, 2010 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Dec. 17, 1920. She married Joseph Frederick Fischer on Feb. 3, 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother and sister, Howard Gelenius and Margaret Edell.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy Minix of Boulder City and Frederick Fischer of Dexter, Mich., and sister Cathryn Dow of Dexter, Mich. She has two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held July 2 at 11 a.m at Christ Lutheran Church, 1401 Fifth St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name either to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Internment will be in the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery.
