Alan Combs Doyle, son of the late John Harold Doyle and Estella Combs Doyle, was born June 3, 1928 in Eldon, Mo. At age 9, Alan moved from Kansas City, Mo., to Sioux Falls, S.D., to live with his beloved uncle and aunt, Clarence and Helen Portz. Alan served in the U.S. Military for five years. Alan was a graduate at University of South Dakota in 1955 with a bachelor of arts in Geology. He moved to Nevada in 1961 and worked for the U.S. Geological survey, and Wackenhut services at the Nevada Test Site, for the Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City from 1966 until he retired in 1985 as a geologist. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge 1682, also a member of Boulder City Lodge 37, F. & A.M. and American Legion Post 40 of Henderson. Alan really enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with kids. Alan departed this life on July 6, 2010, at the age of 82 in Henderson. He is survived by two brothers, Jimmie Doyle of Wichita, Kan., and Gary Doyle and his wife, Nancy, from Pitnam, N.J. Alan will be fondly remembered by his four children: Frances Doyle of Carlsbad, N.M., Richard Doyle and his wife, Debra, of Rolla, Mo., Douglas Doyle of Denver, Robert Doyle and his wife, Twilia, of Loving, N.M., to include the following grandchildren: Sara Bakken, Randall Bakken, Raymond Climer, Jennifer Doyle, Lindsey Doyle, Stephanie Murray, Rachel Lassiter and two great-grandchildren. To include a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held at Grace Community Church in Boulder City on July 12.
