Dance Etc.’s Dare Kujawa advances on reality show

Boulder City Review

For local dance instructor Dare Kujawa, it is on to the sweet 16 of the Fox television reality show, “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Kujawa, a 20-year-old instructor at Dance Etc., advanced Wednesday on the first night of viewer voting results, capturing enough votes from last week’s performance to be kept out of the bottom six.

The bottom six are the three male and three female dancers who received the fewest viewer votes. Two were saved by the judges with four eliminated Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, Kujawa performed a traditional partner dance to the Temptations classic, “My Girl.”

While the judges complimented Kujawa’s performance, they expressed concerns that the more traditional routine wouldn’t stand out enough for viewers to pick up the phone and vote him through.

Viewers can vote for Kujawa at 1-855-464-4605, or text “Dareian”to 83676.

The two-hour “So You Think You Can Dance?” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
