City updates Nevada Way project

Special to the Boulder City Review

The construction crew is continuing working on Nevada Way. The crew is still working west towards Buchanan Boulevard from 5th Street. They will be replacing the sewer and water mains within this stretch.

Due to construction, the speed limit on Nevada Way from Buchanan to Wyoming will be dropping to 15 mph to ensure the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and the construction crew.

The second phase of the Nevada Way Project was awarded to Wells Cargo at the February 28, City Council meeting. On March 1, staff received an award protest from the second low bidder. Staff has reviewed the protest and will present the protest at the City Council meeting on March 27.

Staff and our consultant, Nevada By Design, are working with the state Department of Transportation to obtain the permit for the street work in the U.S. Highway 93/Buchanan Boulevard intersection.

We will be having another meeting Thursday, March 29 at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the gymnasium at the L.A. Water and Power Building, located on the northwest corner of Nevada Way and Wyoming. We welcome you to come voice any questions or concerns you may have in regards to the project. As always, please feel free to contact me anytime at 293-9205.

In urgent situations the following consultants for the Nevada Way Project are provided below. If one cannot reach these contacts first then contact a city official while construction is in progress.
