Unlicensed operators at airport focus of crackdown

The city is cracking down on aircraft mechanics working at Boulder City Airport without obtaining the city’s required licensing and permitting.
Independent operators, such as mechanics, detailing services and flight instructors, are required to obtain a Boulder City business license and a non-FBO fixed-base operator provider permit prior to working at the airport.
However, there are an estimated half-dozen independent operators being hired to work on private aircraft without going through the permitting process, said airport manager Kerry Ahearn.
